Susan from About Face

Meet Susan M. Sorensen, LE

Susan M. Sorensen is a native of Virginia and an honors graduate of the Laird Institute of Spa Therapy, Manchester, NH, having received a Diploma in Skin Science. She is also a graduate of James Madison University, Harrisonburg, VA, where she majored in music, concentrating in piano.

A Dermalogica-certified Professional Skin Therapist and South Carolina-Licensed Esthetician, she holds an Expert certification as well as the International Dermal Institute Post-Graduate Certificate of Achievement for Skin and Body Therapy. She is certified to perform advanced skin therapies to include chemical peels; machine and manual microdermabrasion; LED light therapy; ultrasonic therapy; and manual lymphatic drainage, as well as being a certified Skin Classic Thermolysis provider.

Every treatment with Susan begins with a consultation as a framework for discussing client concerns, setting reasonable expectations, and achieving an optimal outcome.

Her passion for beautiful, healthy skin, coupled with a commitment to ongoing post-graduate education, guides her treatment philosophy and has made her a sought-after skin therapist. Susan credits her first facialist, Irmgard Booth, a former plastic surgery OR nurse, with planting the seed for a skin science education. Susan has been a frequent visitor to the Lowcountry for 30 years, and recently relocated to fulfill a long-held dream of practicing skin therapy in a place of stunning natural beauty and rich history. Susan is an avid music lover and seasoned traveler who also enjoys cooking, gardening, sailing, the beach, and any opportunity to be on the water.
